Deleting your Backpack of Songs account

From inside the app

1. Open Profile.
2. Scroll to the bottom, to Delete account.
3. Confirm.

That is the whole flow. It takes effect immediately.

If you cannot open the app

Write to support@backpackofsongs.com from the email address on the account, with the subject "Delete my account". We will verify it is you and delete the account within 15 days.

What gets deleted

• Your profile: name, country, portrait and settings.
• Every song you posted, with its note and its place.
• Every like you left.
• Everything in your backpack.
• Your Spotify connection and the tokens behind it.

Your posts also disappear from other people's radars and backpacks.

What does not

• Anything that already left the app — a screenshot someone took, or a track someone added to their own Spotify playlist. We cannot reach those.
• Encrypted database backups, for up to 7 days, after which they are overwritten.
• Moderation records, for up to 12 months, if your account was reported or suspended.
• Records we are legally required to keep, for as long as the law requires.

Also worth doing

Deleting your account here does not touch your Spotify account. To remove our permission on Spotify's side, go to spotify.com/account/apps and revoke Backpack of Songs.

Deletion cannot be undone. There is no way to recover a deleted account.
